Not only is the book well written but the commentary by the participants in the evolution of this player Justin’s experience from Little League to the Bigs … is exceptional. This book can now serve as a bible for any player (and parents of a player) who want to play beyond high school. Many chapters are also practical advice to youth baseball players and their parents trying to struggle with all of the politics and misinformation they receive about Select/Travel baseball. The book is fact based … pulls no punches … and gives you the truth to help you make better decisions and will help you avoid the idiots out there trying to take your money or waste your time. Sid Holland is one of the top hitting instructors in the game and getting his advice at the end of each chapter is worth the price of admission (buying the book). And yes, I too wish the book had come out years ago … would have answered a lot of questions and saved some grief along the way as my son climbed the ladder to the next rung of competition year after year. Tip your caps to the author Humphries … he “went yard” with this effort. (By Baseball 557, September 6, 2013)

As a parent of college and high school baseball players I wish I had this book years ago. Questions on how to navigate the often confusing path are answered. The commentary from Justin Humphries, Sid Holland, and Scipio Spinks make the points that Rod brings up come to life with real world examples of how players can and have progressed from little league to high school, college, and beyond! ( By Kirk – Texas, August 16, 2013).
